THE annual
Zululand
Championship Horse
Show was held at the
Meerensee Equestrian
Club on Saturday and
Sunday.
The turn-out of
children riding this
year out-numbered
adults and juniors
and the competition
among the children
was stronger than it
has been in about
seven years.
And so, it was the
pony riders’ show
jumping that had
everyone sitting on
the edge of their
seats wondering
which combination of
pony and rider was
going to do a round
in the fastest time.
Silver Star and Kate
Ervine won the
championship show
jumping class by 0.6
seconds.
The overall pony
riders dressage
winner was Micaela
Brun on Trinity.
In the novice
dressage, Rachel
Brun on Montana Sky
scooped top spot,
followed by Cheryl
Jacobs on Tecumseh.
The junior and adult
prelim dressage
winner was Natashia
Fox on Second
Officer and in the
novice dressage was
Natashia Fox on
Crown Land.
In the show riding
pony category,
Micaela Brun on
Trinity won with
Rachel Brun riding
Montana Sky in
second and Clive
Hyde on Tuscany in
third.
In the junior and
adults show riding
horse category, the
winner was Robyn
Blasen on About A
Pound, with Marilyn
Andre on Ramazotti
in second and
Natashia Fox on
Second Officer in
third.
In the working
hunter for pony
riders, Rachel
Barrett on Scott was
first.
In the junior and
adults working
hunter, Natashia Fox
on Second Officer
was first.
In the pony riders
equitation novice
test Cheryl Jacobs
on Tecumseh was the
best, followed by
Rachel Brun on
Montana Sky and
Clive Hyde on
Tuscany.
