Fantastic year for Bartho
brothers

Willem de Waal
ALL is set for this
year’s Rotary Foskor Safari
Cycle Tour and Kermesse in
Richards Bay on Sunday 20
August.
This year the race features
a new circuit route which
should provide extremely
fast times as well as allow
supporters to see the riders
during every lap.
Circuit
The race starts at 7am from
the Bearing Man Zululand
Triathlon Club (BMZTC).
The 25km lap then runs along
Bayview Boulevard and along
the John Ross Highway to the
Foskor intersection.
Riders then take a loop past
the Bayside smelter, back
onto the R34 and towards the
start and finish line
through Meerensee.
Spectators can relax at the
BMZTC and watch the
competitors every time they
start a new lap. The prize
money for the 100km race
should attract some of the
country’s top riders with
the added incentive of the
top 30 making the kermesse.
There is also a junior
kermesse for the top 15
junior finishers.
The first race is
scheduled to start at 7.15am
with the kermesse following
at 10.30am.
Closing date for entries is
at 11pm on Wednesday 16
August.
